Mon Jun 09, 2008 8:54 pm For example, last saturday I drank
2 litres of Jacques fruit cider
2 tripple vodka's and coke
4 tripple port and blue wkd's
3 double vodka red bulls
1 bottle of blue WKD
from then I dont really remember coss I went into town, I know these tho cos they were on my tab at my footy teams local this is an average amount really, and the next day I rarely eat much, then dont have a proper meal until the following days tea time, so by not doing this each weekend and drinkin through the week my appetite increases, thus making it easier to gain weight and burn it off into muscle and build endurance.
Im running the race for my Grandad who most of you know died last year from cancer, he beat it once but when it came back (small cell cancer) in the spine, it killed im in about 4 months and I looked up to the guy alot. (Dont worry im not crying at this point :D ) So I am going to do this.
Its 2 mile swim, 3 mile Jog and 5 mile cycle, in my current condition I could handle the Jog and Cycle but definately not the swim, they have extra distances for people who are better but for my first time I think this will fuck me up enough.
..and dont worry, I will be accepting paypal donations

Tue Jun 10, 2008 12:27 pm Its a good cause Coley no doubt but I'm just saying no need to drop drinking, I don't see why anyone needs to do that a year in advance of a triathlon unless they are so unfit they cant even manage 10% of the 2 mile swim with out needing a break.

Oh and Coley weekends don't count didn't you know that? Be strict during the week if you must and go crazy on weekends. :(

Thanks RU for a decent responce lol
Fair play to you, I've lost my mum, an aunt and an uncle to Cancer, so I'm always supportive of the cause. This weekend my brother and I have just had a reunion with our dad after 26 years. He and my mum divorced when I was 8 and I never saw him again nor did any of my family. He was a big drinker (alcoholic) back then so there wasn't many happy memories. He's now 75, if he is still alive and kicking with his drinking and smoking habits there's hope for everyone.
Anyway's good luck with your detox and Iron Man race thingy.

Tue Jun 10, 2008 8:40 pm ye good luck coley m8, even if i wouldnt stop drinking at all i would reduce it ...gosh, i couldnt take
all that alcohol ( except weekends :D )
last weekend i went away at 6 in the evening and came back 12 hours later with 100 € less in
my pockets...
but then i have kendo 3 times a week which is very important for me to have and not an easy sport
so go for the marathon and think of all the good times we had while ur at it.
cheers !
